New Orleans

Just spend the last 8 days shooting a car commercial in New Orleans. This is a 3 country job. We go to Argentina and South Africa next. Here's some shots I took on my Pentax 67 medium format film camera!

Nike Commercial

Just walked into a Nike store and saw my Nike commercial I shot playing. Poduction Company: Dirt Robber. Directors: Martin Roe & Nick Frew. This was a real fun commercial to shoot. We rigged a Red Epic vertically and shot the whole project that way. 

Commercial

Just shot a 4 day commercial with directors Matt Fackrell and Nate Fackrell. It was a blast. Shot on my Alexa Mini with my Zeiss Super speeds. Here's a video of a rig we used to get a spinning POV shot. Worked really well!!!

Monterey Trip

Last weekend I took a trip with the family up to Monterey. What a beautiful place! Here are some photos from my medium format film camera.

GMC Commercial

This week I shot a really fun commercial for GMC up in Santa Maria at a Vineyard on the way towards San Louis Obispo. It was so beautiful. We used a Drone and Ronin gimbal to get some really nice shots. Here's a shot of the location!

Nissan Commercial

2 weeks ago I shot a 2 day commercial for Nissan. It was a really fun challenge lighting the car at a product level on location. I can't show the car until the spot releases. Shot this on my new Alexa Mini!

Tool of NA commercial

Last week I shot a short 1 day PSA for director John X. Carey at Tool of North America. I got to house an epic in this waterproof housing  and shoot some B roll of surfing. It was pretty fun diving under the waves with this beast!

Shot a 2 day commercial last with with awesome director Austin Peters with Radical Media for American Express, featuring the artists Disclosure!!! This job was my Alexa Mini's Maiden voyage and I'm in love with this camera!!!

This week I'm shooting in Egypt for the first time. Have to say I love this place. I had to make sure I checked out the Pryamids of Giza. Well worth the trip!!!

Alexa Mini has arrived!!!

Today I received my Alexa Mini camera from Abel Cine.  I'm so excited of what this little camera can do. I'm so happy to finally get rid of my Red Epic! This camera shoots 200 fps, shoots internal Raw, shoots 4K, and has a 4:3 sensor perfect for shooting anamorphic. And it weighs 5lbs!

Landshark Commercial

Just recently shot a commercial for Landshark Beer. We had a shark fin in CG swim through the floor of a bar and swim through the sand at a beach.  It was a fun and challenging shoot. Here is a shot of the fin in the background. Directed by: Benjamin Howdeshell and produced by Shawn Wallace.

Commercial in Kuwait and Egypt

Just spent the last 8 days in Kuwait working on a pretty great commercial for Kuwait. Playing with a lot of glass shapes in front of the lens. We spent a few days shooting on a small island right off of Kuwait city that I never knew existed. It was attacked by Iraq in 1991 and now it's pretty much a ghost town island.  Working with director Omar Kalifa who is a great UK director based in Qatar. This week I'm heading to Cairo to finish off the commercial. Looking forward to the finished product.  Here are some shots on the island.

Google Commercial

Just did a quick trip to New York for a Google commercial for Missing Pieces production company. This was the quickest job I've ever done. I took a red eye to NYC, then I went straight to set to work 10 hours and then took a red eye flight back to LA. I can check that off the ye old bucket list. Here's a shot right out front of the studio I worked in.

Had a few minutes to shoot a roll of film on the Nike spot I just wrapped. Here are a few Pentax67 medium format shots!

Nike commercial

The last 2 weeks I've been shooting a Nike commercial with directors Martin Desmond Roe and Nick Frew at Dirty robber productions. We've been shooting in LA and New York. We've been using two Epic Dragons, one on a ronin and the other hand held. The client wants  a 9x16 release so I figured out how to rig my camera vertically hand held and with the the ronin as well. With the help of WoodenCamera and Viewfactor I was able to achieve 9x16 format. We had a lot of fun toys on this shoot! Here are some BTS shots. I'm really looking forward to this one!!!
