2015 Chrysler 200 Teaser

Here's is a link to the commercial teaser I shot in Detroit a few weeks ago. It was shown at the Detroit auto show on a 100' wide screen. We had the craziest aspect ratio for this project. Hope to get the actual hi res spot soon! Click the first photo below. The spot starts a 4:55 in. The middle photo is one of our rigs we used to create the car POV. We housed it so we could dunk it in water.

MAN FROM DEATH SCREEN GRAB

Here's a screen grab from day 4 of Man from Death short film. I used my 8x8 dayblue muz and a 180mm zeiss standard speed. I really like the color the dayblue gives off. It makes a subtle bounce look.

Prisoners of War short film

A few months ago I was able to shoot this short film directed by Joe Miale. I'm really proud of this and excited about it. I've always wanted a film that is real like this that has CG. My gear was limited. I had one Par can and 3- 2x2 mirrors and of course my trusty fog machine! Check out the video at http://www.chrissaul.com/narrative.php

Short film this week

This week I start a 6 day short film with director Stephen Reedy and producer Eric Lim. The last collaboration we did was the short film "The Forge" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O17aK8tkp9U
Looking forward to another epic shoot! Here is our location! It's going to be a spaghetti western/ martial arts film.

Fashion shoot

Recently shot a mini campaign of commercials in Malibu for a clothing company called Show me your MUMU. Got to use some of my bokeh vintage lenses. Here are some screen grabs.

New Petzval lens!

Just received my Petzval 85mm portrait lens in the mail. It's a lens that had a modern build off of lens technology from 1840. As you can see it gives you really nice bokeh!

Shoot with Ryan Hughes

On Dec. 27th I shot a commercial for Food for Life, a bread company, with Motorcross star Ryan (Ryno) Hughes. We shot in San Diego at a Motorcross track and several other locations. Here's a few screengrabs from the shoot.

Director Stephen Reedy has a artist profile in this months Juxtapoz magazine and it mentiones my name! This is definitely one of those times I can say my mom is proud! I've been working with Stephen for the past 4 years on various commercials, music videos and short films. Our recent collaboration was a short film called "The Forge".

Rusnak car commercial

Just spent the day shooting a car commercial for Rusnak dealership. We rented a Russian arm and got some amazing running footage of a Prosche, Range Rover, and BMW near Mt. Wilson. 

Chrysler Commercial in Detroit

Shooting a 3day commercial in Detroit this week for Chrysler. I'm shooting the whole process of a new 2015 car being made through a POV. It's been pretty awesome! We've made some pretty cool rigs for the camera and also rented a hydro flex for some water shots!
